Music: My Refuge and My Voice
Since I was a child, music has been part of my essence. I remember my mom recording me on cassette tapes — simple moments, but deeply meaningful.
Over time, what started as a game turned into something more serious. I took singing lessons, joined music groups, and realized that this passion deserved a more important space in my life.
Today, I’m part of $#%@ Rabbitz, a Spanish- and English-language rock band I formed with three friends. The journey isn’t easy, but our dedication keeps us going strong.
We rehearse every Thursday for about three hours, and each of us also practices on our own to keep moving forward. We aim to release a new song every two weeks — a small but exciting challenge we truly enjoy.
My inspiration comes from great artists like John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Thom Yorke, Gustavo Cerati, Rubén Albarrán, Damon Albarn, and many others. Each of them, in their own way, has taught me about the power of music and the deep connection it can create.
Although I don’t play an instrument — yet — I dream of learning to play the keyboard someday. What drives me is my love for singing, hearing myself grow, correcting my mistakes, and constantly evolving.
Being in a local band comes with its challenges. It’s easier now to find venues to perform, but turning music into a sustainable livelihood is still tough. That’s why we live it as a passion — a hobby that feeds the soul beyond any material reward.
At work, there’s no direct link to music, but whenever I get the chance, I sing. Meetings, team events, any moment that allows it becomes my little stage. That space makes me feel alive, brings me closer to my colleagues, and reminds me of this simple truth: there is always time to do what you love.
Music doesn’t just energize me — it teaches me. And I truly believe that, even if it feels like a side road, there is always a way to weave our passions into daily life. The key is to never stop singing, dreaming, and sharing what we carry inside.
