Women have become a cornerstone in the growth and transformation of the digital age, leaving behind those difficult times to be able to grow and fulfill themselves in whatever field they choose to develop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With technology help, they have reached a digital world where everyone can acquire greater knowledge about their rights, an education to assert them, and opportunities for growth and personal improvement.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to advances in digital transformation, internet access is within the reach of communities with social and economic inequalities. As V\u00edvaro, we are proud to contribute our grain of sand, providing connectivity in spaces where all women deserve to have a powerful tool like technology; and, at the same time, help to reduce the digital gender gap.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00f3nica Aline Serrano Aguilar, Product Development and Marketing Manager, shared with us a part of her vision of our contribution as a telecommunications company.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat V\u00edvaro does is to connect companies. Connect to sites. If we connect in an area where they don't have access to information and they don't have any access to technology, the moment we arrive, that access opens up.\u201d<\/em>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00f3nica, who is an exemplary leader within our company, is a Communications and Electronics Engineer, with more than six years as part of V\u00edvaro family. Throughout her career, she has made her way in the telecommunications industry, being a role model for women on her team and those around her.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she said that getting into the place where she is nowadays was not easy, because the career she studied -in another period of time- was considered inappropriate for women.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI<\/em> wanted to dedicate myself to the installation of antennas and microwaves. I submitted my resume to a certain company and they ripped it up in my face. They told me 'we don't receive women,'\"<\/em>M\u00f3nica Serrano  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This International Women's Day, it is important to make visible the motto chosen this year by the UN to commemorate and recognize the importance of the female gender on the planet; and, at the same time, the benefits that connectivity brings, since they deserve more opportunities to achieve their goals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
