Sometimes, unexpected changes push us to look inward, discovering dormant talents or releasing the courage to pursue what we always put on hold.
Our Telecommunications Museum manager, Ninfa Romero, is a living example of how, by capitalizing on those events that immobilize many, it is possible to open spaces in the personal agenda to develop and enjoy other talents and hobbies.

Ninfa Romero: a story of reinvention

After 22 years of uninterrupted career in art and culture in the state public service, at the end of 2023 changes happened that showed me that life does not always follow a straight line; a situation that allowed me to rethink my course, and from a constructive approach, I took the time to reflect, rethink and design my future.
During this period of introspection and reinvention, two projects took shape that had long been on the back burner, and that reveal my essence, as well as my commitment to the arts and culture.
ARTEPUERTO MX
A live cultural radio program that is broadcast every Tuesday from 7 to 8 PM, from Tec Sounds Radio 94.9FM and its digital platform, in which I serve as host. It is an initiative supported by Tec de Monterrey, focused on the dissemination and promotion of art and culture, from a human, accessible and diverse perspective.
This project, which is based on reflections made during my professional experience in the field of culture, channels my motivation to communicate, promote and give voice to many people with whom I share the commitment and passion for art.
NINFA ROMERO MX
It is a project of a much more intimate and personal nature, inspired by the teachings of my grandmothers, who passed on to me the art and love of sewing, and which is for me a new way to apply my skills and direct my energy and creativity.
My brand fuses tradition and modernity to create garments that tell a story. Each piece reflects my passion for detail and offers my clients pieces that enhance individuality. I have a special affection for this project because it speaks volumes about my ability to reinvent myself and find new languages to make everyday life a unique experience.
This is how today, I combine the knowledge acquired over the years oscillating between design, cultural management, leadership, communication and creativity. This allows me to nurture my sensitivity and give continuity to my commitment to the dissemination and promotion of arts and culture.
I am equally passionate about my personal projects, as well as my duties and responsibilities as MuTel's Manager.
The radio program allows me to contribute to the work of dissemination and cultural promotion that I have done, from different angles, throughout my career in the field of culture and the arts; the sewing project opens up new possibilities to satisfy my need to invent and create.
Meanwhile, being in charge of the Collection and the Museum of Telecommunications, allows me to bring my experience and knowledge acquired over more than two decades in terms of senior management of museums and cultural projects, in addition to introducing me to the interesting world of telecommunications, as this is the nature of the MuTel collection.
It is important to balance both aspects, professional and personal.... I manage my time and try to be very disciplined to meet my personal goals and also focus on my professional ones.
Doing these two activities gives me the satisfaction of adding to the artistic and cultural development of Nuevo León, being happy and dedicating myself to doing what I like.
And I still have things I would like to learn, like playing tennis and doing something for theater, but I don't know when, nor do I know exactly how or in what role I would like to enter this discipline. The time will come.
