Dozens of young people have completed their professional studies and obtained their degrees, thanks to the support of the Jorge García Abaroa Scholarship, founded in 2000 by businessman and philanthropist Don Gustavo M. de la Garza Ortega.

This past Wednesday, June 26, the Auditorium of the Graduate Building of the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León gathered those who will soon shine in the workforce.

A total of 34 graduates, specializing in Law and Criminology, Chemical Sciences, various Engineering disciplines, Architecture, Biological and Chemical Sciences, Visual Arts, Public Accounting and Administration, Philosophy and Letters, and Physical-Mathematical Sciences, donned their caps and gowns to receive the degrees they have worked for in recent years.

The Jorge García Abaroa Scholarship ensured that the new professionals focused solely on their studies, while their parents proudly watched their children's development and achievement of goals.

This program was established 24 years ago and has since successfully achieved its objectives, producing a total of 1,720 professionals to date.

Additionally, this semester saw the graduation of 80 CONALEP students, who are also part of the BJGA.

The ceremony, led by UANL Rector Dr. Santos Guzmán López, was attended by the founder of the Jorge García Abaroa Scholarship, Don Gustavo M. de la Garza Ortega; as well as the program's director, Jorge Eugenio de la Garza Flores, accompanied by his wife, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Monterrey, Mrs. Puk de De la Garza.

For the August-December 2024 semester, the Jorge García Abaroa Scholarship will facilitate the academic journey of 120 high school and university students and 80 technical career students.
