"Honor to whom honor is due," says a popular phrase by the Cuban José Martí, and it couldn't better describe what was experienced this Monday in the Plenary of the Legislative Palace of Nuevo León.
The venue was splendidly decorated to honor and recognize each and every one of the goals set by our founder and president, Don Gustavo M. de la Garza Ortega. He has maintained these objectives for over half a century of activity in the business, cultural, and philanthropic worlds, inscribing not only his name but that of Nuevo León and the country at the international level in golden letters.
Deputy Luis Susarrey Flores, from the National Action legislative group, proposed this ceremony on September 12th to honor one of the key figures in Nuevo León's business world.
Don Gustavo attended the event accompanied by his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and close collaborators.
The speeches by the proponent, the honoree himself, and the president of the local Congress, Mauro Guerra, were heartfelt and moving; worthy of a historic and unforgettable moment.
