When I started with Grupo Vivaro, back in February 2021, I then started working for a small Canadian organization that was then named Aldea Solutions Inc. This small enterprise was owned 100% by a larger Mexican organization named - back then - Marcatel. Things have changed so much since then! And for the better!
Last year, this small enterprise, Aldea Solutions Inc., was renamed Vivaro Media and has become since then a fully integrated business unit part of Grupo Vivaro; the new brand name for Marcatel. A huge and strategic organizational transformation took place to create this powerful organization that we now know as Grupo Vivaro with seven different business units, from different countries, working all together! What an amazing accomplishment! And it’s not finished… it’s actually just a beginning!
Throughout my career in HR, I experienced some important (and big) organizational transformations: mergers and acquisitions, drastic company culture change, new leadership teams and new orientation/vision/business strategy. And every time these transformations happened the outcome was always extremely positive!
That being said, we have to be honest and admit that the road that leads to these organizational transformations is not an easy one at the beginning. Because these transformations involve “change”. And human beings fear change. Being afraid of change is something natural for all of us, we can’t deny it. However, we cannot let this fear stop us from pushing ourselves further. Most importantly, we cannot let this fear cause us to miss out great opportunities. I’ve always had the same leitmotiv throughout my career: “change is GOOD!”, “change is POSITIVE!”.
A bit more than a year and a half later, I see lots of benefits from this big organizational change that we started all together.
First, there is more and more synergy between Grupo Vivaro’s business units. And the message that we got day ago from Gustavo, our CEO, strongly demonstrates it (reorganization between Vivaro Telecom and Vívaro Digital). These synergies are so encouraging for all our people from Sales, Commercial, and Operations teams because we are creating so much more business opportunities. And if we create more business opportunities, we undoubtedly bring more revenues in. In other words, we create GROWTH. Growth means EXPANSION. And one important thing that growth brings us: more opportunities for our people.
Another important element that will be extremely interesting for all our employees from this important organizational change is what we call “internal mobility”. With all these new synergies between business units, some opportunities will arise. New positions will be created. We’ll see more employee movements “internally”; we’ll see employees transferring from one business unit to another. If an employee has the right profile for a position that is vacant within another business unit than the one that they are currently working in, Grupo Vivaro will undoubtedly support the transfer of that employee. How amazing is that for all our employees to know that they now have the whole Grupo Vivaro to develop themselves on a professional point of view! Even more… we are becoming, more and more, a “global” enterprise, an “international” organization. We have offices in Mexico, Canada, Chile, and the USA. We also have employees in Argentina, Colombia, and France! In other words, Grupo Vivaro has a presence in seven different countries! This is so promising for the professional development of our employees! It is a world of opportunities that is opening to them!
At Vívaro Media, we welcomed a few months ago, in Montréal (Canada), an employee from another business unit from another country. This telecommunication professional made the decision to join Vivaro Media and start working on a strategic project. His technical expertise is exactly what Vivaro Media was looking for! There was such a high plus value for us in transferring this employee from another business unit, from a different country, to Vivaro Media, in Canada. The adventure has been incredible so far, for the employee and for Vívaro Media! And this is just a beginning!
I am so happy and motived to embark and embrace this journey! I am so happy to speak and work on a daily basis with my HR colleagues located in Mexico and Chile! Many countries, many cultures, many ways of doing things. We take the best of all of it and create a fantastic experience!
I really encourage all of you to embark and embrace this incredible adventure! Be proud, live the culture, be a leader in this phenomenal Grupo Vivaro! The years ahead of us are so promising in many ways! All of us are an important part of Grupo Vivaro. Let’s encourage all our colleagues in joining and keep embracing this new adventure called Grupo Vivaro, a global organization of well renowned telecommunication business units!
All aboard!
