At Vívaro, we care about the health and well-being of our collaborators, which is why we provide a health talk each month. In July, the conference "Science of Hydration: 10 ways to hydrate correctly" was conducted by the nutritionist Lorena Paredes.
Lorena gave the necessary advice for proper hydration, emphasizing how many glasses one should drink in a day.
"A healthy adult needs 35ML of water per day per kilo, this is the general recommendation of the WHO," Paredes commented.
She also mentioned that every body is different, but on average, a man should drink 3L of water and a woman should drink 2L of water.
"Drinking water contributes to weight loss as it increases gastric volume and induces a feeling of fullness," added the nutritionist.
Moments before the end of the meeting, a question round was conducted, where collaborators could express all their doubts or comments such as:
"Is drinking electrolytes the same as drinking alkaline water?"
"What are the recommended oral serums?"
"Can people with diabetes consume electrolytes?"
"The advisable thing is to drink alkaline water, as if you drink a lot of electrolytes it can cause severe diseases," Paredes mentioned.
