Vívaro is my family. The place where I’ve grown professionally, where I’ve learned and improved my skills, acquired knowledge and lived experiences with the group’s values: adaptability, agility, empathy, passion and creativity.
I have fulfilled dreams, goals and objectives in my professional and personal life throughout these 26 years, but there are still dreams and goals to be fulfilled. The desire to continue learning remains, as does the desire to develop and experience the challenges that arise with a spirit of service, to contribute to the knowledge and experience of my work team.
My name is Verónica Martínez Martínez, I am Treasury Manager at Grupo Vívaro. As such, I provide services to Vívaro Telecom, Vívaro Video, Vívaro Media, Vívaro Digital, Vívaro Gaming, Vívaro Properties, Vívaro Comunidad and the rest of the subsidiary companies.
I am part of this company’s history, part of the extraordinary. I am part of the phrase “It was when I realized that this company was going to be bigger than I ever imagined", a quote from our President and Founder, Don Gustavo De la Garza Ortega. And it is true: today Vívaro is bigger than we ever imagined.
I arrived at Marcatel on September 19, 1996: that day I became number 10 on the payroll and have been ever since. I began here with many expectations, with goals, dreams, with a great willingness to start from scratch in this company. Because we were a small team, made up of only 10 people, I knew challenges would arise, but I also had a certainty that we would grow exponentially in a short time.
The team consisted of 4 directors, 2 assistants, 2 managers, 1 systems specialist and yours truly, in charge of fund operation. Everything related to treasury and finance was in my hands, there was no Finance Director, nor accounting staff.
Marcatel’s start was with long-distance services. Over time it has evolved by getting the best technology and creating new telecommunications products and services, acquiring new companies, competing with large companies, and remaining in the market. Of all the companies that started at the same time, Vívaro is the only one that didn’t merge, disappear or was sold.
In recent years, we have ventured into new challenges of transmission, production, digitization and entered the world of esports. More recently, I witnessed the name change to Grupo Vívaro and the birth of our new identity.
During these 26 years, Marcatel, now Grupo Vívaro, trained and developed me as a professional through conferences, courses, and much more. This is true not only for me, but for all members of the organization: the goal has always been to make us better leaders and communicators, to achieve all-round better decision-making.
In these 26 years, Marcatel’s presence in my life has gone beyond the professional. It has been by my side in some of the most important moments of my life: having a boyfriend, getting married, having a child, getting divorced and being alone for more than 10 years, staying with my 9-month-old son. In difficult times, I managed to get ahead with a positive attitude, supported by my family and my Marcatel family.
A family made up of the extraordinary people I have met over the years, some who remain in the company, others who now travel different paths. In most cases, although we started as colleagues, I’ve become great friends with the people I’ve met at the company, becoming a true Vívaro family.
Like Vívaro, I have an inspiring past, an innovative present and an extraordinary future. I know that there is something more for me, that I will continue to grow and learn what I like most, achieve goals and overcome challenges.
I thank God for putting me in this great company’s path. I always say God puts the means and the right people to get ahead in everything that comes our way. Thank God for all the blessings I’ve received, for those that I continue to receive, for those that will surely come. Thanks, Grupo Vívaro, for everything you’ve given me, continues to give me and for what I am about to receive.
