Before the internet and memes, people paid attention and had fun watching ads. “Mándame un beepazo” (roughly translated to “Beep me up”) was Biper’s slogan, a company that belonged to RadioBeep, later renamed Marcatel and now known as Vívero. It brought message reception technology to small devices before mobile phones.
Bur Marcatel’s work didn’t end with short message voice to text conversion. Its work in telecommunications began in 1965. At the same time that Telefonos de México was the biggest fixed telephony provider, Marcatel steered away from telephony and onto new horizons.
Vívaro (our company name as of 2022) bets on data and fiber optic to transport them. “Now we’re a group of companies (some of them in Mexico and others abroad) that are involved in data, video, media services, production, eSports and real estate,” assured Gustavo de la Garza Flores, CEO.
As a corporate internet service provider, we face companies like América Móvil, Televisa’s companies, Axtel, Megacable, Totalplay and others again.
Telecoms are a part of the group of companies related to technology. Between companies and TV stations, we’ve got more than 110 clients -national and international- to which we give service through 111,000 kilometers of fiber optic.
“Globally, we have more than 247,000 km between capacity and long term fiber. It’s part of what we’re most proud of,” our CEO added.
Part of the company’s specialization is catering to TV station’s connectivity. In fact, Vívaro Media, based in Montreal, Canada, has an emphasis on live broadcasts -such as matches and awards shows- to transport the licenced TV station’s transmission.
Another one of our companies, Vívaro Video, is dedicated to the productive event productions in America and other continents. Its function is translating contents to Spanish. One of the most important events produced in Spanish is the Champions League.
We also have a presence in eSports through Vívaro Gaming, our company organizes video game tournaments through the ACE League “for the community at large as well as companies,” shared De la Garza. The company also invites more experienced players to be a part of its community and teach newcomers.
Finally, our real estate company, Vívaro Properties, formerly known as FAISA y Gusma; and Vívaro Comunidad, formerly known as Fundación Marcatel and Beca Jorge García Abaroa.
Our presence in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Colombia, Chile, France and the many other countries we reach is possible thanks to the work of 700 employees. During this and next year, Vívaro will invest 1,000 million pesos to deploy fiber optic from McAllen to Dallas, Texas.
Part of the resources will be used for network deployment in Mexico, Latinamerica and Europe as well.
